About

I am a sculptor and visual artist living and working in Detroit, Michigan. Currently, in my studio practice, I'm investigating sawdust as an inherited material from two previous generations of woodworkers. In 2007 I co-founded the Cave Gallery in Detroit and helped organize exhibitions there for six years. I've since received numerous project grants while earning my MFA from the University of Michigan, including an international project grant to conduct work and research in Guatemala. Apart from my sculptural practice, I am also a co-founder of Houghton Era, an outdoors company that focuses on designing equipment and encouraging respectful engagement of wild places.
